Hair Scan AI is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini AI) to analyze your scalp health. By capturing 4 photos of your scalp, the app generates a detailed report covering hair density, Norwood scale evaluation, volume, and overall scalp condition.
The app is free to download. Scans can be unlocked by watching rewarded ads (3 short ads) or by spending coins earned within the app. There is no mandatory subscription.
Hair Scan AI is available for both iOS and Android devices. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Yes. Hair Scan AI is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Users under 18 may not use the application.
After unlocking a scan, you capture 4 photos of your scalp: front, right side, left side, and top. The app sends these images to Google Gemini AI, which analyzes them and returns a detailed text report. Photos are never saved on our servers — they are deleted from memory after analysis.
Each scan report includes:
Hair Density — Percentage score (0-100%) indicating scalp coverage
Norwood Scale — Stage 1 through 7 hair loss classification
Overall Condition — Percentage score (0-100%) combining quality and coverage
Overall Review — AI-generated narrative with observations and suggestions
There are two ways to unlock a scan:
From onboarding path: watch 3 short rewarded ads via Google AdMob.
From the home area: spend 3 coins from your in-app coin balance.
Coins can be earned through the app's reward system.
The onboarding asks optional questions about your age, sex, and any existing hair or health concerns. This information is used only to personalize your initial experience — it is not uploaded to any server and is stored locally on your device only.
Yes. Your scan history — including results and dates — is saved locally on your device and accessible from the home area of the app. All scan data remains on your device only, regardless of whether you're signed in or using the app as a guest.
The Hair Product Log lets you record the shampoos, conditioners, oils, or treatments you use. You can add product names, descriptions, and categories to keep a personal log of what you're trying. All product log data is stored locally on your device.
Yes. An active internet connection is required to run a scan (photos are sent to Google Gemini AI), display ads, and sync your account data. Some browsing of the app is possible offline, but core scan functionality requires connectivity.
No. Scalp photos captured through Hair Scan AI are never stored on our servers. They are encoded and sent temporarily to Google Gemini API for analysis, then immediately discarded. The scan results are stored only on your device — nothing is saved on our servers.
No. Onboarding data (age, sex, health concerns) is stored only locally on your device using your phone's storage (SharedPreferences). It is never uploaded to any database.
If you create an account, we store in our secure database:
Your user ID and email (from Google or Apple)
Terms acceptance status and timestamp
Your coin/credit balance
Scan dates (timestamps only — no photos or results)
Hair product logs are stored only locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

Yes. Hair Scan AI is designed to comply with GDPR and applicable data protection law. We define clear legal bases for processing, provide user rights (including access, erasure, rectification, and portability), and work with third-party providers that offer GDPR-compliant data handling. Yes. You can run scans as a guest without creating any account. Scan history, product logs, and results are always stored locally on your device, regardless of whether you're signed in. The only difference when you sign in with Google or Apple is that your coin balance is synced to your account, so you'll find your coins if you log in from another device.
You can delete your account at any time directly from the Settings screen inside the app. Account deletion permanently removes your user ID, email, and coin balance from our servers. Your scan history and product logs remain stored locally on your device until you uninstall the app or manually clear them. For legal defense purposes, we retain a minimal log of your terms acceptance (timestamp and version only) for up to 10 years, as permitted under GDPR and applicable law.
